Baier Hatch Company Baier has been manufacturing watertight hatches since 1947. The original hatches were designed by Ludwig Baier for the Army Corps of Engineers. The Baier Hatch meets the standards of the US Coast Guard, the American Bureau of Shipping, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and the Canadian Department of Transport. All Baier Hatches are available in cast aluminum, cast galvanized steel, stainless steel, or bronze.
